Monica Mata Gilliam is a Seattle based contemporary dancer,improviser, and gardener. She moved to Seattle in 2000, after receiving her BA in Dance from Texas Woman's University. Over the past 6 years Monica has had the great fortune to work with many talented Seattle artists. These include: Alethea Adsitt, Corrie Befort, Alex Martin of BetterBiscuitDance, Karn Junkinsmith, Lucia Neare, Alia Swersky, and Kristen Tsiatsios, among others. Monica has appeared in the music videos of Laura Veirs, Harvey Danger, and The Lights. (And a secret for those of you still reading: Monica is just beginning to play the trumpet.)

Tamin Totzke began her dance training at the University of Minnesota in her home town of Minneapolis. She then studied in London before landing in Seattle via Cornish College. Tamin has been a collaborator and company member of Maureen Whiting Dance Company since 2000. She has also been a collaberator with Dead Bird Movement, Kristen Tsiatisios' The Maze Project and other local talents. She is currently diving deeper intothe world of improvisation with Monica Mata Gilliam through Quartet,an on going project investigating improvisational performance. Tamin is a yoga instructor, massage therapist, and student of Ayurvedic Sciences. Come July she will be packing up and moving home to Minnesota where life and dance shall continue.
