Quartet is the collaborative relationship between
movement artists Monica Mata Gilliam and Tamin Totzke. Quartet's
work is, at heart, compositionally intricate improvisational dance,
which unfolds in unconventional contexts. This collaboration investigates
the notion that contained within the complexity of the self exists
both witness and participant. The continual exchange between these
two perspectives forms a vibrant catalyst for creation. Together,
Monica and Tamin create dances at once raw and highly organized,
blending vigorous physicality with delicate gestures and dramatic
detail. Through guerilla style street performances Quartet catches
audiences off guard, inviting a dynamic forum for exchange between
the artists and their communities. |
